Community Involvement

Jessica's life was considerably impacted in a positive way by caddying as a young child at Red Run Golf Club in Royal Oak, Michigan.  In an effort to pay it forward, she focuses her community involvement in areas where she can have a positive impact on the lives of local youth.

Locally, Jessica volunteers and mentors as an executive committee member and board member at the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation in Clearwater.  The mission of the foundation is to educate and assist at-risk children by improving their self-esteem, character, work ethic, social adjustment, and academic performance using the golf course as a living classroom.  The foundation supports a few primary programs on its campus:

  • Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy - a public school that is privately funded for at-risk children
  • First Tee of Clearwater - uses golf to teach children life values in summer camps and in-school programs

Nationally, Jessica supports the Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards full college tuition and housing scholarships to caddies from modest means.  The first two Evans Scholarships were awarded in 1930, and the program has grown to become the largest privately-funded scholarship in the country with over 10,000 graduates from 18+ univerisities.  Both Jessica and her brother Neil were Evans Scholars at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
